Line lighting is increasingly applied in shops. For instance, in the new Decathlon store in Alkmaar, where Veko’s linear 2 meter LED armature was installed. In total, 800 meters of line lighting was mounted in just 3 days. The lighting has an integrated emergency lighting capability of 20 lux, while this is usually only 1 lux. This is a good and safe choice for such a large shopping establishment. The Veko LED lighting provides 1,200 lux. That is a lot of light, but a conscious choice, because it promotes consumer buying behaviour.
Decathlon had been looking for a while for modern LED lighting that does not blind the customer. This was especially important for the Alkmaar branch, because the line lighting had to be installed relatively low near the product shelves. Together with BestLed, Veko figured out a solution. For Decathlon a good distribution of light was crucial, in order to light the bottom of the shelves just as well as the top, and maintain the colour fastness of the products. The aftercare was perfect: just after the store was set up and before opening, everything was finalized.
