The place where in 1974 the National Championships for Riding in Art took place, but also where ABBA gave a concert. The Jaap Edenhal has a rich history. Measuring 100 m x 50 m, the hall has hosted many events. And now Veko was allowed to make a tour. Both the ice rink and the grandstand are fitted with LED lineair lighting. 295 fittings (impact-resistant and IP54) have been mounted over a length of 544 m. To obtain the right light intensity, the fittings have been placed in a continuous line. On the outside, the lighting consists of a double line, the inner line is rotated 45 degrees. This way, you get extra light on the outside (on the boarding side, where the ice hockey game takes place) and enough light in the middle of the ice rink. The reason for choosing line lighting was the enormous cost saving, but also the fact that the lines are easy to dismantle. Should the hall be extended in the future, the lineair lighting can easily be adapted.
We have already noticed a huge difference in energy consumption and lighting, and have received many positive reactions from visitors.
