Efficiency and sustainability
Commissioned by Barth Installatietechniek, Veko Lightsystems carried out a large-scale renovation at IKO, a leading manufacturer of roofing materials, insulation and waterproofing solutions.
This project focused on replacing existing fluorescent lighting with energy-efficient LED linear lighting. It was carried out in four phases.
Preparatory work began in May 2017 with an extension of 153 m of line lighting, equipped with 50 Magnus luminaires. The first phase took place in November 2018, during which 70 fluorescent fixtures and 7 emergency lighting units were replaced with LED luminaires. This was followed by the second phase in June 2019, with the replacement of 69 fluorescent units and 7 emergency lighting units. The project was completed in October 2023 with the most substantial intervention: the replacement of 589 fluorescent luminaires and 48 emergency lighting units with sustainable LED solutions.
In all, around 2.5 km of light lines was installed. In addition to yielding significant energy savings, it also resulted in a remarkable improvement in the lighting of the IKO production facility.
