The carbon footprint shows our emissions for scope 1, 2 and 3. This means it only shows emissions from our premises and employees.
What are we doing to reduce CO2 emissions?
Our premises are equipped with 770 solar panels. In addition, our energy-efficient fleet consists entirely of hybrid cars.
There has been a decrease in car travel. Our car travel is limited because our various sales locations are close to our customers. Also, many consultations take place via telephone and video conference.
Compared to last year, energy consumption has increased, this is due to the scarcity of the arc detection for the solar panels at Witte Paal 7.
Besides insight into emissions, it is important for us as a company to pay continuous attention to emissions and we are constantly working on reduction opportunities. Sustainability and continuous improvement are high on our agenda.
Carbon footprint 2022
The carbon footprint shows our emissions for scope 1, 2 and 3. This means that it only looks at emissions from our premises and employees. This overview is mandatory to have when working with parties (contractors) that are on step 5 of the Co2 Performance Ladder. Compared to last year, kilometres and travel movements have increased. This is obviously due to the end of corona measures. Energy consumption is at zero because Veko only uses green electricity. Besides insight into emissions, it is important as a company to pay continuous attention to emissions and look for reduction opportunities.
With a score of 68 points, Veko is among the top 8% of all companies assessed by EcoVadis. An improvement with last year, which we are proud of! We are working hard to make our business processes more sustainable.
EcoVadis assessed Veko and 75,000 other companies worldwide on environmental, social and ethical performance. We work hard every day to continuously improve this and this assessment gives us good insights.
