The arrival of indoor playground Monkey Town in the tennis hall of Nijziel Sport & Health B.V. presented an ideal opportunity to replace the existing fluorescent lighting with energy-efficient LED line lighting. In order to make the right choice, various test setups were installed, allowing athletes to indicate which lighting they found most comfortable. Based on their feedback, the final choice was made. The tennis hall, squash courts and Monkey Town are now equipped with LED linear lighting with the Encelium light management system, which provides central control of all lighting. The lighting in the tennis hall is switched on only when a game is in progress, whereas a ‘comfort’ setting is used for courts where there are no players, preventing the space from feeling dark. In Monkey Town, the difference in lighting between the play area and terrace is programmed to further minimise energy consumption.
